I see change... but where's the hope?

We are definately seeing and feeling the change, but the
hope is somewhere behind 2 spending bills with one on
the way. It's behind the stock market that plummets
everytime Obama speaks. It's also hiding from the
thought of nationalized banks.
It's also behind the terrorists getting set free. Yikes!
Forget the first 100 days, how about the first 30.

I can't believe this is the America I grew up in.
Which probably explains why so many of us
Americans are becoming more actively
involved in our communities and wanting more of
our voices heard over the talking heads in office.
That explains the "Tea Parties" being organized
in every state by ordinary citizens peacefully
protesting the reckless spending of our dollars.

My hope is to see America get back to personal
responsiblity.  Giving the power back to the people.
Getting back to what our founding fathers envisioned
for us. Small Gov't. States rights.  i.e. "Head of State".

"Miserable failure" to Obama socialist policies.
I hope that particular turn of phrase catches on.

Finally heres to my hope to our future come 2010
and 2012.
and thats my say...

Happy Valentines' Day!!

                         Happy Valentine Day!!

I know I usually write about politics, but today is special.
I thought it would be amusing to commemorate this
day  with my first Valentines' Day. I will of course
course change the names to protect the innocent,
but if your reading this, you know who you are, i'll
just call you "Joe".

Ok, to begin with, I was a major tom boy growing
up, so Valentines Day really didn't mean much to
me till I got to the later years of my high school yrs.
in my junior year.  It was like someone had flipped
a switch and poof, hanging with the boys took on
a whole new meaning. (To say the least). Anyway
Joe was in my circle of guy friends I hung out with
and played sports with on the weekend.

The weekend before V-Day we were at the rec room
starting out playing HORSE. Eventually we paired up
started playing to 21.  I was on Joe, he was trying to get
around me and finally he just rushed me and we both
ended up on the floor, me on my back and him on top of
me. It shouldn't have been a big deal, it's not like we
haven't been in that situation before playing in the gym.
It was kinda awkward, like looking at your friend with
new eyes. I pushed him up off me in a huff and berated
him for his clumsiness.  A small argument ensued and
eventually I relented but I left the game and walked home.

When we saw each other in school the next day he asked
if we were still cool with each other.  Of course I told him
yes, but I knew I wouldn't look at him the same again. There
was something in his eyes that I hadn't seen before. Later that
same day, "Bob" who was in the same history class as me and
"Joe" had passed me a note asking me to the V-Day dance. I
didn't really want to go, but he was a nice guy, so I accepted.

The night of the dance my nontomboy girlfriend came over
and made me up and did my hair, and oh my god did she
tease it good.  You know what I'm talking about if you were
were a teenager in the 80's.
"Bob picked me up and off we went. I felt bad I was going
under false pretenses, but I never heard who "Joe" had
asked as his date, and my pride wouldn't let me ask.
The dance was in full swing by the time we got there
and the first thing I did was look around nonchalantly,
not so no one would notice, hoping to spot "Joe" and
his date.  We were dancing right smack in the middle
of the dance floor when we quite literally bumped into
each other.  I turned to apoligize but when I seen his date
I saw red.  I didn't know who I was pissed off at more,
him for asking her out, her because of a fight we had
gotten into earlier in the year or me for caring who he
decided to ask.  I ended up calling him something I can't
print because of the profanity rule.  I stalked off out of the
gym, not knowing "Joe" was hot on my heels following me.
He turned me around and quite angrily asked me "what the
hell is wrong with you this week".  Again, my pride went up
and I told him nothing and preceeded to argue with him about
his date. Along came our two dates, they found us in the hallway
arguing and it then turned into a four way brawl. "Bob" on
"Joe, and me on "Jane".  By the time a teacher had found us,
all four of us had bloody noses, ripped clothes and its's too
funny how both us girls hair ended up looking like after we were
seperated.  We all ended up with suspensions.  I went home
and big surprise got into trouble again.

As it happened, when I got home I was informed I would be
moving again and needs to transfer to another school come
the following Monday.  I called Joe the next day which was
Saturday and told him I was leaving and wanted to tell him
goodbye. When Monday came, I seen him. He snuck out of
the house to see me off.  Before I left, he grabbed me and
kissed me right on the lips and then he told me he had
always liked me but didn't know how to tell me.  His pride
had got in the way, so he asked that other girl out to see
if I would get jealous.  I started to laugh and admitted to
same thing.

I never saw him again til years later. We were both married
with kids and had a good laugh over our last week together.
I've learned over the years when it comes to relationships and
holidays, if you don't have someone in your life when those
days come around, let it go and just wait for the next one when
you do. It can be messy. Especially if you've got stubborn pride.
But then again, you might get a good story out of it to remember
and laugh over later.

What does it say? who knows...

Today Friday the 13th has lived up to its' reputation once again.
Kinda surreal really.  We have a couple things to mourn today. First,
I'd like to send a prayer to all the victims and their families of the flight
that crashed down in NY over night. Flight 3407 where 50 people
lost their lives. A candle will be lit for you.

The second is mourning the passing of common sense in the house
democrats. Headed up by Nancy Pelosi, they happily and proudly
proclaimed today that they were so taken by the fact that they could
all work together to waste $790B of taxpayer money. YEAH!!  I can just
picture them back stage fist bumping and high fiving each other.

Whenever I've had to sign a contract, whether it was for my home
or a job, I READ the whole thing and looked for the fine print. The
fine print is always what gets you.  Lots of people even get lawyers
to read it for them before they would even entertain the idea of signing
their names to the deal.
In this case, the $790B spending bill was 1,100 pages long.
It was printed up at midnight last night.
No one knows whats' in it.  What was added to it behind closed
doors?  You know that transparency we were promised. You would
think that if someone is taking that much of your money, you would
want to know where it was going.
I can guess where its' not going.
Not one Republican voted for this bill today.
Yet Nancy came out and announced everyone worked together in
perfect harmony. So much for that bipartisan administration.
(it's somewhere with that transparent door.)
Atleast they can't blame Bush for this debacle.  Its' not like
they can say Dick Cheney held his gun to their head to sign
it without reading it.

This is just another example of how out of touch Washington democrats
are to the real working families and their realities. We actually have to
worry about making the mortgage and car payments and school tuition.

That hole we're trying to get out of is the same one the dems are
still digging in.  You know the hole that says they don't know Jack
from Jill.
Thank god there wasn't a full moon.
That was my say.

BHO on the stump again

This past couple weeks i've been laid up with the flu and suffice it to say, i've had plenty of down time.
I've been watching BHO campaign again. For some reason I thought the election was over and he
was sworn in as president already. But lo and behold there he was. I don't care what he says it was,
he's campaigning.  He already had enough votes to pass that ridiculous spending bill, but there he was.
Honeybee insurance
anti smoking programs
STD research
global warming research
and on and on and on and on.
Of course he's not going to mention any of these things on the stump.
Now all of these are worthwhile, but none of them belong in this economic pkg.
We're supposed to be stimulating the economy, not fulfilling wish lists. I mean come on,
how does building ATV trails going to stimulate our economy. Aren't they made to be
off road anyway?
I may not of voted for Obama, I don't agree with most of his policies. He is smart,
he may even be likable. I want to want him to succeed because he is our president.
But if his solutions to our problems leads us to socialism, then no,I don't want him to
succeed.  There is no success when socialism is involved.
These last couple years, our countries PC crowd has me thinking about
that movie Demolition Man. Before long the gov't will want to be able to tell you
how to eat, what to drive, what room temp. to keep your home.
I wonder if he'll be on the stump campaigning when this pkg is a "miserable failure".
Blaming the republicans.
Ok, I got to go take my meds again. Flu season is almost over hopefully.
anyway, I've had my say.

Hope and Change?

I have to say I'm still waiting for the hope and change this administration promised. As a private
citizen I'm worried. I know I'm not the only one. The new cabinet members are less than stellar
to say the least. Change and hope are not two words we can associate with these nominees'.
Hillary Clinton;
There are not enough words to describe why I don't trust her. But to go with something
more recent is she is now the Sec. of State. We have to trust her to have talks with heads'
of state on our behalf. Her husband meanwhile receives money from the Middle East on
his projects. I don't believe I trust her ethics when it comes to personal gain.
Eric Holder;
From the Clinton administration. He had some explaining to do when it came to
the billionaire Marc Rich pardon.
Bill Richardson;
He was nominated for Commerce Secretary but dropped out to avoid
any fallout BHO might get with his pay for play in New Mexico.
Besides, he and the "Hill" don't get along these days.
Tim Geithner;
He is now confirmed as our Treasury Secretary, the head of the IRS.
Too bad he doesn't know the rules and doesn't want to pay his taxes.
He wants us to though. On time.
Nancy Killefer;
Was nominated for Chief Performance Officer
Had to drop out for owing taxes.
Tom Daschle;
Had to drop out for owing taxes.
Joe Biden;
The original gaffe machine himself.
It's been like watching a long episode of "Survivor".
Maybe the cast offs can come back in the sequel.
But then again, they have Eric Holder.
Lets hope for some change we can get behind.
Anyway, that's it for now, I've had my say.

Michael Steele is In!!!!

A note to former RNC chairman Mike Duncan- "Don't let the door hit ya on
the way out"!!!!!  oops, did I say that?

Hell yes I did. These last five to ten years have been painful to watch.
I've watched republicans whimp out too many times, not fighting for
what we believe is right. In their zeal to show just how bipartisan they are,
they lost not only their way, they lost votes, confidences and respect of their
fellow party members. So many times I wanted to yell at them to grow a pair. Fight
for me. But, everytime the MSM started blustering, singing the same tired songs
the "hypocrats" are belting, it was painful and frustrating to watch. The louder
the MSM and the "hypocrats" sang, the bigger the rush the republicans were to
get bipartisan and would end up giving the store away. That is just not
something that inspires confidence.

I say "hypocrats" instead of democrats for a reason.
One because, well I'm a smart***, the other is it's just plain true. Both parties
in Washington do the same stuff. They make the same mistakes. They raise taxes, break
promises, and shoves truck loads of pork down our throats. Yet democrats seem
to get amnesia when they want something. They're the party you can count on. (gag)
they start that song I was talking about (singing voice a little too high pitchy
for me) shrill really. According to them, they are Sonny to our Cher. They are the
only ones capable of getting it done right. The best thing since sliced whatever.
You know what I'm talking about, you've seen it. Sickening really, the MSM and
democrat love affair.

Now that Lt. Gov. Steele has been voted to head our party, im rejuvinated and
expect many changes for the better. I expect an aggressive plan to get our message
to voters. Technology has given us the opportunity to do just that, we just
need to use it. I expect Steele to get us better organized and more
competitive. I was impressed the other day when we stuck to our guns
and every single one of the republicans voted no to the spending plan Washington
is wanting to stick us with. O they call it a "stimulus" plan, but looking at where
they want to allocate the money I didn't see much stimulating, just special interest
spending. I guess this is the change our president promised us. Spend Spend Spend.
Welfare states, socialism...(redundant at best).

I do expect to see the MSM to demonize Steele, just as a PR campaign to try and
discredit him. Which is their specialty. Should be interesting to watch.

That's it for now, til next time, i've had my say.

My First Post: Making History? What kind?

Hello dear readers, my name is Melissa a.k.a. "Faedora" Sizelove. I'm just your "normal" everyday person
living her life. But like you, I have many concerns. These aren't small concerns, or I'd be happy just complaining
to my friends. So, this is me expressing my concerns on a broader scope, or if you will: complaining. Now, don't
get me wrong, this isn't just a witch fest. I have good things to say as well, maybe not now, but I will....

My first complaint has to be the closing of Gitmo. Do we REALLY have to do this before we even know what or
where we're going to put them. Are we releasing them to go home to their home country to kill our soldiers,
their own countrymen, or to plan another attack on us on our own soil?   Again?

Are we going to have to release some of our own prisoners to make room in our already over populated prisons
to make room for them, thereby releasing other prisoners to the public to do more harm. The way the court
system and ideology driven pack of judges we have now, you never know who they will try to "rehabilitate"
to make room for a terrorist to mingle with our criminals.  What are the odds they try to recruit inside?
They'll get their three squares a day, free cable and will ultimately get the same rights as private citizens.
The same people that have been calling for their release ie Human Rights Activists, would be the same people
to get their heads cut off if given half a chance by the very people they are championing.

I see this as a lose, lose situation.  I know as soon as I heard our new president say Gitmo was closing, I felt a hell
of a lot unsafer then I did the day before. I worry about the future of our country and the direction we are going.
considering Gitmo, the unending bailouts, illegal immigration, heroworshipping of celebrities and on and on and on.
I hope we start to learn from history and quit trying so damn hard to make it.

I think it's very sad when not one person I know can say they trust  ANYONE in Washington. Sometimes I think
they forget they work for US not the other way around.  Too many people have become apathetic toward gov't.
and their policies. There's alot of head shaking, and "I can't believe they did THAT" . But no one wants to call their
senator or govenor or representitive, they just want to complain and be done with it. Just chock it up to gov't being
gov't and wash your hands of the whole deal, til you notice your paycheck getting smaller, taxes getting higher and prices
going up. Call Call Call, be a big pain in their arse, it's allowed. YOU are THEIR boss.

I actually want to get rid of all career polititians and put in some REAL leaders. Proven leaders. They are out there.
I want to make my vote REALLY count someday.

But like I said; this is my opinion and this is me having MY SAY.
